Meridian Block

“This work required no carving. The sculptor spent three months in a Scottish quarry selecting a block whose internal quartz formation ran in a single unbroken line from base to crown. Two saw cuts on opposing faces revealed this meridian. The remainder of the stone surface was left entirely raw — hammer-dressed from extraction — so the contrast between geological accident and human intention remains legible.”
