Origin & Inspiration
“Quarter-sawn to expose the medullary rays — the flame-like lines that run perpendicular to the growth rings in oak — the figure's surface reads not as smooth skin but as something between anatomy and landscape. The sculptor worked for three months, refusing to sand: every mark of the chisel is preserved as part of the final form. The figure stands in a posture of recollection, weight shifted, head slightly lowered.”

Technique
Entirely hand-chiselled from a single quarter-sawn plank. No mechanical tools used after initial milling.
Finish
Tung oil, two applications. Chisel marks preserved as intentional surface texture throughout.
